Welcome Back My Enrichment Seeking Passengers:

In the house bored, bored in the house and I’m about to lose my mind.

If you have been on TikTok at all over the last year, both of these phrases (songs actually) should be familiar.

Right now I can relate to both of these. I am exhausted. I am restless. I am bored. I am losing my mind.

More importantly, I feel boring. And who wants to be around a boring person?

I’ve spoken with a few friends who are feeling the same way so I know I am not alone.

I also know I am not alone in being exhausted. The fatigue that I am experiencing reached the point where I actually saw my doctor who said he’s seeing a lot of this. He’s attributed it to the post-Cheeto relief slump, seeing the light but not yet close enough to it, and all the other stuff going on in my life. He ordered some bloodwork to eliminate any actualy illnesses but I should be fine.

We even ruled out depression.

How am I dealing with this right now? After a week of actively resisting, I am leaning into the boredom and accepting a much lower level of productivity. I am taking naps. I have lowered my own expectations significantly.

I’ve taken up MasterClass cooking classes and have made two amazing Mexican meals a la Gabriela Camara (big thumbs up!).

I’m doing yoga and stretching and meditating (with cats and dogs).
I am taking care of health appointments.

I am arranging pretty flowers once a week.
I’m spending quality time with Zeke.
I’m taking care of myself.

I am getting out of the damn house.

I am casually looking for an enriching project that I can sink my teeth (and mind) into.

So where you are you? How are you coping? Have you returned to ‘business as usual?’

I’m driving my family and my friends crazy right now as I try to find something enriching to focus on while being totally exhausted at the same time. More on this in Tuesday’s video. Fun times indeed.

YouTube: Pandemic Reflections Part 2: The Good Stuff
Pandemic Reflections Part 1 (highlight reel) was a bit of a downer but there was some good stuff that came out of the last year. What you might ask (Finn was skeptical)? Well, you’ll have to watch the video to find out.

What’s my challenge for you today? Take a nap or a brief rest.

With much love and gratitude,

Terri

P.S. Take the controls and be the pilot in your own life. It’s a beautiful day to fly, and you are cleared for takeoff.
