Piloting Your Life: In-Flight Entertainment (Speaking Events and Podcast Interviews) (May 29, 2018)
Welcome Back My Diligent Passengers:
Last week I presented my talk on Piloting Your Life and it was very well received. I learned a lot from the experience and will continue to refine it each time I give it. I still haven’t had the courage to watch the Facebook Live recording to look at what worked and what didn’t but I will sometime soon. At dinner the other night, I mentioned to my daughter Rachel that it will ultimately become my TED Talk and the incredulous look she gave me was priceless. Presenting at the conference was the first step towards that big goal and the second was talking to a colleague of mine who is working with a speech coach for her TedX talk. If she has a good experience with him, I may reach out to him to help me out on my TedX talk which will take me one step closer. Baby steps.
You might remember Fei Wu, my guest from episode 42. She turned the tables (or microphone) on me and interviewed me for her podcast, Fei’s World where I talked about being a helicopter pilot and what I am doing to change the world. The two episodes released this past week. She made me sound incredible.
I also presented a one hour webinar on project management (begin with the end in mind) to meet my continuing education requirements for my project management certification. I am giving it again this week (Thursday at 11 AM pacific time via GoTo Meeting) so if you want to attend, feel free to send me a note at PilotingYourLife@gmail.com. I’ll probably record it and make it available on the Medium post I created as evidence for the education submission. I created another blog post on some lessons learned to support the same continuing education requirement. I thought it might also be helpful to remind Solutions2Projects clients (past and future) that I am still consulting with life sciences companies (I have to fund my investing habit!).
The next presentation I’m giving will be on this week’s Piloting Your Life topic of due diligence. Jason Calacanis hosts a Founder University program and the June session is for female founders. I first gave this talk at Women’s Startup Lab back in April for a group of founders and it was well received. I realized that it was an area that a lot of founders want more information about and was pleased to work with Jason’s producer, Jacqui, to get scheduled as part of the three day event next week.
