Piloting Your Life: In-Flight Entertainment (Are You Ok? I Am Not Ok) (Nov 3, 2020)

Welcome Back My Uncertain Passengers:

Here’s where we stand as I write this week’s In-Flight Entertainment newsletter. It is scarier than it is entertaining. If you are anything like me, you are feeling so many feelings that it’s impossible to tease out which one to lean into. Anxiety? Fear? Anger? Disgust? Terror? Disappointment? Hatred? And possibly a strong desire to flee all of this and say ‘fuck you red states?’

Or maybe you are a better person than I am.

So today I offer you a beautiful, serene image filled with hope to help with centering and grounding.

Feel free to reach out if you need any extra support and I will do my best to support you as I try to get client work done and try to avoid doom scrolling on Twitter.

Need Some Puppy Love? (well, maybe doggie love)

Do you need a lovely dog to snuggle with and go on walks with?

This lovely gal, Lady, is 6 years old, has an incredibly sweet temperment, and is looking to be loved.

We are fostering her through the week (it was supposed to be until she got adopted but she has a strong prey drive and wants to make our cats her lunch) and would love to find her a fur-ever home. She is a staffy mix, super gentle, and did I say she loves to cuddle?

She is available through Copper’s Dream Rescue. Please help us help her find a home. Don’t tell Zeke but if she was fine with cats, we would totally keep her. She has been fine with our dog Violet by the way.

Does your kid need help with their classes?
Adam is offering remote/virtual tutoring sessions.

Adam now has three (yes three) tutoring clients and is absolutely loving it.

While on a call with him last week he said, “Mom, I think this is scaelable.” Ya think? Hilarious. He also offered up, unprompted, that he loves teaching. This is good since he is pursuing philosophy with a goal of teaching.

I couldn’t have been happier until I suggested he create a Google Sheet to track his clients and he said, “Mom, I already created a doc for each client and am tracking when I am meeting with them, what we covered, and whether they’d paid or not.” I am one proud mama. Some of what I do has rubbed off on him. Woohoo!

He has room for more clients so please don’t hesitate to reach out to him.

YouTube: Kittens, Puppies, Snakes and Chickens
I knew that everyone was going to have trouble absorbing much of anything yesterday and wanted to put some distracting goodness into the world.

Rei and I gathered a whole bunch of pics of the cats, dogs, chickens, and snakes that have lived in our house (adopted, foster, on temporary loan) and Rei overlaid them onto the video. So you hear us chatting in the back and only see cute pictures and videos. You might need this today, too.

YouTube: 10 Months Into the YouTube Experiment (Candy Cannon or Candy Chute?)
Rei and I discussed our 10 month YouTube experiment and shared some of the sausage making in Saturday’s video.

What’s a candy cannon you might ask? To be safe on Halloween, Zeke and Rei built a candy cannon (without an accelerant or propulsion mechanism) so it really was more of a candy pipe or candy chute (for alliteration).

Rei is snarky as always.

What’s my challenge for you today? Breathe. Regroup. Find some peace. We are going to have to fight like hell in the coming months so we need to recharge as we wait for clarity. And take care of yourself.

With much love and gratitude,

Terri

P.S. Take the controls and be the pilot in your own life. It’s a beautiful day to fly, and you are cleared for takeoff.
