Piloting Your Life: In-Flight Entertainment (I like to move it move it) (Sept 9, 2020)
Welcome Back My Earth Loving Passengers:
Holy shit it’s hot! I am getting a jump on this week’s newsletter and am writing it from my non-air-conditioned office where the temperature outside is 104 degrees Farenhiet. This is not normal. This is not cool.
Fortunately, our air quality isn’t bad today so we aren’t suffering from that where I live. I was able to get out for a 3 mile hike with my bestie Jacqueline for the first time in three weeks. I really just wanted to grab coffee and sit and gab but, you know, Covid. Plus my ass needed to get moving.
My husband Zeke is heading to Seattle with his bike and four buddies to ride from Seattle to Eureka over a two week period. It’s over 800 miles and I am pretty sure he will look a lot like this picture when he gets back. I am glad he has friends to do this with because this is not my idea of fun.
Four hours a day on a tennis court for two weeks straight? Sign me up. Especially if there’s yummy food, a pool, good adult beverages, and some folks to chat with. And maybe a good book or three.
How do you feel about active ‘vacations?’ Hiking the Alps? Discos and huge art installations at Burning Man? Swimming across a channel? Send me a note and let me know. firstname.lastname@example.org
YouTube: COVID in the House
Anyone else have bets as to how long it would be before my son Adam’s house was affected by Covid? We moved him in on August 8th and one of his roommates tested postivie on August 30th or 31st. Who had 3 weeks on their bingo card? Anyway, he and his roommates are doing fine. Thank goodness they have a pool. More about this and nutjob SDSU parents with unrealistic expectations in yesterday’s video.
YouTube: Unbecoming (Reflecting on Change)
Boy do I look irritated in this YouTube thumbnail. I was too lazy to take a separate pic so I pulled from the video via the YouTube editor. Probably not the best way to do it but, it is what it is.
You are asking, ‘but what is the video about?” Someone stopped me in my tracks when they asked how I have changed since I wrote and published Piloting Your Life. I spent a few days thinking about this and answered in Saturday’s video.
What’s my challenge for you today? Take care of yourself. Meditate. Eat some ice cream. Enjoy the expensive champagne, Give yourself a facial. Enjoy a chat with a friend and/or a good cry. Feed your soul.
With much love and gratitude,
P.S. Take the controls and be the pilot in your own life. It’s a beautiful day to fly, and you are cleared for takeoff.
