Welcome Back My Amazing Passengers:

This week I am presenting at the IEEE Women in Engineering conference in San Jose, CA. I am putting the finishing touches on my Piloting Your Life talk to encourage the female attendees to take the controls and be the pilots in their own lives (something I recommend for everyone by the way). While I speak at a lot of events, I rarely give prepared talks like this one. I am much more comfortable ‘winging it’ during a fireside chat or a Q&A session.

Just in case you are curious, I am presenting on Tuesday, May 22nd (today) at 11:30 AM and it will be streamed on Facebook (one of only four of the talks chosen). If you want to watch from the comfort of your home or office, here’s the link to the Facebook page. You can even add comments or post questions as there will be a 5 minute Q&A period (give or take 10 minutes depending on how the actual presentation goes).

This will be one of my keynotes so it’s wonderful to have the opportunity to prepare it, present it, and then refine it. At the same time, it’s also a little nerve-wracking. The good news is that a lot of the material comes from what I talk about almost every day.

I still don’t know what to wear but I guess I’ll figure that out soon enough. And I am going to take it as a positive sign that I pulled the ‘Don’t Be Afraid to Be Amazing’ card. I think we can all use that as a reminder each and every day.

Tuesday Interview: This week’s guest, Leigh Koechner, spent the longest time looking for her reason for being, her life’s purpose, and she ended up finding it while attending the University of Santa Monica getting a Master’s in Spiritual Psychology. She now spends her time helping other people find their purpose. If she could wave a magic wand (spoiler alert), she would give everyone a momentary flash of their own greatness and their own power because, she says, once they do, it can’t be stopped. Leigh shares her journey to becoming a spiritual teacher and how she’s using her experience as the mother of five kids, to help other parents.
