PYL Book Club: Where to Buy Books

Since we are being intentional about the books we are reading, let’s be intentional about where we buy books. I encourage you to buy books from retailers that align with your values such as places that are:

— locally owned and operated

— women owned and operated

— owned and operated by underestimated folks like LGBTQ+ and BIPOC

— author websites

What Are Some of My Options?

In June, I put together a #shifteconomicpower campaign together to showcase and promote Black women owned busineses. One of the posts was for Black women owned bookstores. They all ship so definitely check them out.

A friend of mine (thank you Pam!) sent me an article with a link to 125 Black-owned independent bookstores. Until I can add to my Pinterest page, here’s the link with the list:

I created a Pinterest board with links to Indie Bookstores around the US:

If you are in the Silicon Valley, here are some options:

This list is definitely not complete so please share some of your favorites and I will add to the list. pilotingyourlife@gmail.com
