Symposia 2017: Personal Takeaways
Not only did I have the pleasure of speaking at Julie Gordon White’s 4th annual Symposia (this year at the gorgeous W Hotel in San Francisco), but I got to listen and learn from some inspiring women. I took a few notes and decided to share them with you.
- Listen to your intuition (this was a recurring theme throughout several of the talks) and trust your heart.
- Take risks. And then take more risks.
- Relationships matter. Connect with people and stay connected.
- Listen to your customer.
- Treat your clients how you want to be treated.
- Self care is important and cannot be ignored.
- Do not underestimate the power of a/your tribe.
- There is power in intention.
- Ask yourself this question: are you going to be successful or not?
- Whatever you seek is seeking you.
- If you want to learn something, work for free. Once you add a paycheck, you add expectations.
- If you are trying to get somewhere, find someone who is doing what you want to be doing and ask them how they got there.
- Ask for help.
- Hire people you want to hang out with.
- Raise your rates and/or, charge the same price and cut your deliverables in half.
- You will never know until you take action.
Such a great opportunity to learn and share in a beautiful setting designed specifically with women in mind from the stage to the tables to the food. Julie did a great job in bringing together a diverse group of women dedicated to being successful entrepreneurs. I look forward to next year and to putting some of the above items into practice.
