Two of the most respectable underground scenes, kicking asses in urban tone, from the nerves and arteries of concrete jungle of two of the most big cities in the world, London and L.A. East London grime scene and L.A.’s Compton scene are producing the most real down to earth hip hop. Artists such as Skepta and Kendrick Lamar, in respect, are the spearhead of burning expression in the global hip hop rap scene.

There is a known tension that lies between the authentic creation of an artist which suddenly gain success, and by that becoming a profitable product, risking its originality stamp. Hip hop, originated in the streets, representing the urban harsh deprived life, when becoming commercialized probably weakens the impact of its real and authentic expression. Therefore it is worth bring up the Grime style back to back with hip hop creation from Compton L.A., namely Skepta and Kendrick Lamar, to observe the return to deep roots ghetto hip hop.
