Why can’t we hold all these updates?
Hello all! It’s been a decent amount of time since our last update! From this point moving forward, blog posts will be separated into two different types: news and changelogs. These changes will provide a better experience for readers and allow finding what has recently changed easier for our community.
News will include recaps of significant changes from our platform, new features we want to highlight, as well as occasional statistics. Changelogs will provide a more technical, linear breakdown of changes, improvements, or bug fixes applied to the service.
Now onward to the news!

We’ve given the Software Updates page some much-needed attention, greatly improving the graph (as well as adding dark-mode support), prioritizing recent vehicle updates, adding a brand new Release Notes section, and a new icon for determining which version your vehicle is currently on.

In addition to the redesign, we also made many improvements to all aspects of the platform focused around software updates. Originally, these pages required both the version and git hash (ie: /teslapedia/software-update/2019.36.1–0164b9a). To make it even easier to discover a particular version’s release notes and other metrics, you can now simply type “/teslapedia/software/2019.36.1” to get to the right place.

We’ve also implemented a new way of assigning a “parent” software update. Tesla typically will only change release notes every few updates. This often leads to a confusing experience for vehicle owners as the in-vehicle “What’s New In This Version” may contain un-changed release notes.
Since our launch, tens of thousands of Tesla vehicle owners use Teslascope ever month for keeping up to date with the latest Release Notes. We hope by clarifying if a new version actually contains new changes besides bug fixes, we will help improve this experience for everyone.

We’ve given new life to Vehicle pages, providing a host of new features such as sharable drives, Tesla Referral Code support, and many other changes.
As shown above, you can now name and share any of your vehicle’s drives publicly. This feature is intended for showcasing scenarios like high-efficiency drives, perhaps a route taken to showcase the distance from one Supercharger to another? How about one that lets you show off driving a route that looks like the Tesla logo? That’d be pretty cool.
We’re also pleased to share that you can now add your Tesla Referral Code from the Tesla.com website to your vehicle’s page. Effortlessly and passively share your referral code with individuals who may be interested in leasing or buying a vehicle. We’ve seen these codes and links posted across the internet, on Twitter, Youtube videos, and discussion forum signatures.
We hope this feature provides our members and the Tesla community with better tools for sharing the joy of driving a Tesla with others.

At the start of October, we expanded our Teslapedia to include Tesla-related locations, which allowed for discovering Tesla Superchargers, Stores, and Service Centers.
Helpful information about each location including a preview on Google Maps, regional location, and any charging stall information is displayed. For Superchargers, there are new leaderboards for how many times a vehicle has charged here along with some statistics.

We’re proud to announce we’ve officially launched our Developer Documentation platform which includes a selection of API endpoints now publicly accessible.
In the following months, we will expand this to include more endpoints for vehicle owners to be able to access everything about their vehicles such as drives, charging sessions, debug information, and much more.

I’m still working hard to launch our cost estimation features soon. Due to some medical concerns, I’ve had to take some time away from development to recover and not become too fatigued in the last couple of months.
