Good — Without Liberals and Conservatives
As both parties now have extremes, some of us no longer have a political home.
I used to think that Hillary had rocks inside her head when she said that the American public did not want extremes — that Bernie’s policies were outside the mainstream, and that liberals would lose the election if they moved towards the far left. It appears that while Hillary and I have different interpretations of what the far left is, I now see her point.
During the past two years, I have voiced my discomfort at the way things were going. I did not recognize liberals anywhere. Gone were the discriminating voices of reason. Gone was the ability to have a rational discussion. Emotions ruled, and crazier and crazier things were said.
As for conservatives, whether British or American, they still don’t get it. There will always be a hierarchical world. Human beings are a herd species — they need leaders. However, good leaders are not the people who grab everything from the flock. They are the people who tend to their flock.
