Honor Flight Austin Seeks WWII, Korean & Vietnam War Veterans
Honor Flight Austin would like to invite World War II, Korean and Vietnam War Veterans on a once in a lifetime trip to visit their respective war memorials in Washington D.C. There are two honor flights scheduled in September and October. Additional Honor Flights will be continuously scheduled every spring and fall in the future.
To honor our most senior WWII Veterans, Honor Flight Austin asks Texans statewide to help find these heroes from the Greatest Generation and submit an application on their behalf. Honor Flight Austin is accepting applications for WWII Veterans who reside anywhere in Texas.
“We want to let our most senior Veterans know that we did not forget and will not forget their service and sacrifice,” said Allen Bergeron, Chairman of Honor Flight Austin.
Honor Flight Austin is also looking for combat Veterans from the Korean and Vietnam Wars who reside in one of the following Central Texas counties: Bastrop, Bell, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Gillespie, Gonzales, Hays, Lee, Llano, Milam, Travis and Williamson.
Korean War Veterans who received a Korean Service Medal, and Vietnam War Veterans who received the Vietnam Service Medal, are eligible for an Honor Flight. The Honor Flight for Vietnam War Veterans will include a commemorative ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C.
