VLB’s Top Home Loan Lenders and Loan Officers

In 1983, the Texas legislature created the VLB Veterans Housing Assistance Program to help Texas Veterans, military members, and their families purchase a home. Through a network of participating lenders, VLB assisted over 1,395 Veterans last year buy the home of their dreams.

Congratulations and thank you to the Texas Veterans Land Board’s top five participating mortgage lenders:

3. First Continental Mortgage
4. SWBC Mortgage Corporation
5. Academy Mortgage Corporation

These top five lenders closed 784 home loans, totaling over $303 million for Texas Veterans!

The VLB also recognizes the top five loan officers who assisted the most Veterans and their families:

Eligible Texas Veterans and military members have an opportunity to purchase a home with a competitive, low-interest loan with little or no down payment. Veterans, military members and their spouses may borrow up to $647,200 on a fixed-rate loan for 15-, 20-, 25- or 30-year terms*. Veterans with a VA service-connected disability rating of 30% or greater qualify for a discounted interest rate.
