A few weeks ago, our Recs & Devs’ host Davy Engone sat together with Luuk Feitsma, Recruitment Scientist at GoDataDriven.

Luuk’s professional journey started far from recruitment: in the music industry. For over 10 years he was involved in that field, so you can imagine the change was quite big. Today, Luuk works as an in-house recruiter and you will learn about the different positions and steps he took to arrive at his current job. In his chat with Davy, there are a few aspects to highlight and keep in mind as an in-house recruiter:

  • Work together with your team: CTO, marketeers, communication managers. Use your CTO’s input to assess the hard skills of the candidates. Sync with your MarCom team to create content that puts the values of your company in the forefront and that give candidates a good idea of the company and its culture. These are just examples of his approach
  • Be effective in your work. Don’t just do things for the sake of doing them, but do something that will bring value.
  • Inbound strategy is important, but so is outbound strategy. You need to be able to reach out to the right people, at the right time and with the right content.
  • Care about your candidate. Be candid. As Luuk says: “Being candidate in my interview process means I adhere to these values, meaning I treat candidates how I would like to be treated”
