The Barkays

Do you remember a song called The Freak Show? I do. It was a song by a group called The Barkays. I had no idea that they were on the Stax record label. The Barkays are a R&B and Funk group. They were formed in 1966. The Barkays have been singing all the way up to the 80's. In the 80's, that’s when I heard their song, The Freak Show. Then there were songs in the 90's by the group. I remember them most by their song, The Freak Show.
There are some groups that I don’t know much about to be honest. When I was growing up, you heard their songs or maybe saw their videos, and that was the end. I do not remember a lot of television documentaries like we have today on singing groups and musicians. Getting education and learning about favorite groups in music is important to me.
