Caleb & I had the pleasure of attending the opening of Sheila’s show of thirteen small weavings and assorted “memory bundles” last week in NYC. What treasures, both the very vital creator herself and her latest weavings!

Her work has always resonated with me, perhaps because of the shared experience of formative time among the sheep in Peru: the luxe of softly spun wool, the adjunct of objects in their natural shapes, the fibers themselves clearly exposed by the structured tapestries. Although eleven have already been sold as of the moment, the exhibit will stay on view through Dec. 23.

Lucky for New Yorkers!
