Raising A Waterloo Purple Cow: We Want You!
About 2 years ago, I wrote an article about how I had made the switch from my previous employer to TextNow (link). At the time, we were named Enflick, the office was a quarter of the size, and we were working really hard, both professionally and personally, to keep up with the explosive growth.
The hard work has paid off so far — and my spidey sense was right! We turned out to be a bunch of winners :). Within a few months of joining the company, we were celebrating top Canadian awards (link), we were trending up in some really tough categories (link), one of our newly launched products was celebrating its 10,000th subscriber, and our overall daily active users was reaching its first million.
Recently we celebrated another big milestone: our daily active user count has more than doubled since I joined the company. We have also launched new products, expanded the Waterloo office, opened a new office in San Francisco, and added a lot more employee perks. I could go on and on about our employee perks, but I’ll just mention some of my favourites: beer on tap, catered lunch, spin class — yes we have our own gym! — working remotely, and unlimited vacation! I’m actually planning on living in a van outside of Revelstoke and Kicking Horse for a couple of weeks next Winter to snowboard all day, every day — it’s going to be magical :).
