Moving your Delegation to a Ledger or Trezor

Hardware wallets are great way to secure your XTZ. You can safely hold your coins in a Ledger or Trezor and still participate in delegation with Tezos Capital.

In order to take advantage of delegation on a hardware wallet, you will need to create a new wallet and new KT1 address, and then move your XTZs to that new KT1

Since Tezos Capital is currently full, you must register your new KT1 address with us so we can whitelist it.

Here’s the process:

  1. Create your new KT1 address on your hardware wallet.
  2. Transfer your XTZ’s from your current KT1 address (that has delegation rights with Tezos Capital) to your new KT1 address.
  3. Send an email to support@tezos.capital with your old KT1 address and your new KT1 address saying that you want to continue delegating to us.
  4. We will verify that you made the transfer and will whitelist the new address in our payments system so that you can continue to receive rewards.

Important Note:

We can not change the payout address for XTZ rewards that you have earned or will earn from your current KT1 delegation. So you will continue to receive rewards in your old KT1 account for at least 13 cycles after you move your coins to your hardware wallet.

If you want to eventually abandon your old KT1 wallet, you need to sweep it at the beginning of each cycle after our rewards transfer has been complete. Otherwise it will be registered for additional future rewards cycles.

We UNDERSTAND that this is a major pain. Unfortunately, due to regulatory uncertainty, we can not move funds from one wallet to another on your behalf.

Thank you for trusting Tezos Capital as your delegation service. — Jonas, Lotika and Luke.
