In its third edition, the TezAsia Hackathon continues to serve as a platform for aspiring start-up teams and developers aiming to create revolutionary web3 solutions using the Tezos blockchain.

Tezos India is leading the way in fostering an innovative culture within the Web3 space by organizing the TezAsia Hackathon, a month-long event spanning the entire Asia-Pacific region. The registration process is currently open, and applications for the hackathon are being released. TezAsia welcomes a diverse range of participants, including newcomers, experienced coders, students, professionals, and blockchain enthusiasts.

By participating, contestants have the opportunity to win prizes totaling $30,000, along with the chance to secure early-stage grants amounting to an additional $100,000. This hackathon provides a gateway to collaborate with top-notch dApps, platforms, mentors, and Tezos-based entities within the ecosystem.

To streamline the registration procedure, the hackathon organizers have employed the Unstop platform. Aspiring individuals can register for free either individually or as part of a team of up to four members.

The TEZASIA hackathon revolves around two main concepts:

  • ‘Small but great’
  • ‘Disrupt all the things’

These concepts cover a wide range of topics, including NFTs, Defi, and more. The ‘Small but great’ theme is designed for individuals who are new to blockchain development. It allows them to showcase their abilities by creating a simple DApp using the Tezos technology stack. On the other hand, the ‘Disrupt all the things’ theme invites teams with innovative visions to present a proof of concept or a minimum viable product for their Web3 product. To enhance their chances of winning in each category, participants can explore a comprehensive list of ideas available on the platform. Candidates can also find a detailed list of ideas on the platform to increase their chances of winning in each category. There have been around 4700+ registrations to date.

According to Om Malviya, President of Tezos India, the TezAsia Hackathon is a one-size-fits-all moment for people to enter and contribute to the Tezos ecosystem through a spectrum of activities mentored by global leaders.

Tezos India has been highly successful in implementing strategies to boost blockchain adoption in India and South East Asia to some extent. We have created the first layer of adoption through various initiatives over the years and the time has come to leverage the platform to engage the large blockchain community in India and across Asia to accelerate into the next phase of the blockchain revolution. It’s time to build products and services on blockchain for the masses to make Web3 a part of people’s daily lives,” he said.

The TezAsia Hackathon offers a packed schedule filled with opportunities for collaboration and mentorship. It commences on July 16th with a kick-off webinar, followed by a series of comprehensive workshops held until July 27th. From August 1st to August 25th, participants will engage in building and mentoring sessions. The workshops will guide developers through the entire process of building a dApp on Tezos, covering topics such as Tezos’ smart contract language, token standards, integration libraries, and the Tezos blockchain as a whole.

In addition to the workshops, participants will have the chance to explore intriguing ideas and gain valuable insights into building projects on Tezos through content and resource sharing. The final projects will be submitted by August 25th, marking the beginning of the official evaluation phase.
