Tezos in India: 2019 in a Nutshell
Greetings Tezos Community,
As Tezos India is unwinding down an incredible, action-packed 2019, we would like to thank the community for helping build an extremely vibrant Tezos ecosystem. Some key highlights that took place over in 2019.
6th-7th September 2019:
We organized a two-day developer workshop at the Delhi Technological University which was followed by a brief introduction to the Tezos India Foundation. It was an open and interactive event, where students were taught about how to install Tezos on the local machine and how to interact with it. Followed by a quick Michelson tutorial and a lesson about how coding and deploying of a smart contract on Tezos works.
8th September 2019:
After organizing a Tezos workshop at Delhi Technological University. We organized a community meetup with Inblox Network at Cybercity in Gurgaon, home to a lot of corporations and startups where we educated people about the Tezos protocol.
2nd November 2019:
On November 2nd, 2019 a Blockchain Saturday with Tezos meetup was organized with the collaboration of Inblox Network at Crawl street, Koramangala. Om Malviya, President of Tezos India Foundation, talked about Blockchain, how Tezos India supports developers in India, and the future of the Tezos Foundation in India.
24th -25th November 2019
Genesis Devcon’19, A blockchain developer conference hosted by IBC Media, was held the 24th and 25th November 2019, at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. During the conference Caleb Kow (President, Tezos south-east Asia), talked about the global Tezos ecosystem and what it means for India. We heard amazing Tezos pitches on the day-1 after party. From them, Soorya Nath won, who is working on innovation in tax assessments and complaints by creating a triple entry accounting system using blockchain.
On the second day, Om(President of Tezos India Foundation) and Jignesh (Developer on Tezos) organized a workshop on how to create and deploy a smart contract on Tezos.
21st December 2019 :
Tezos India sponsored the Blockchain Saturday meetup with Inblox Network which took place in Hyderabad on 21st Dec 2019. We had an awesome experience over there. Our special guest Visakh from Cryptonomic explained the tooling around Tezos and his personal experience about the Tezos amendments. At the ending of the conference, Attendees were given the already adored Tezos swag.
30th December 2019:
At one of the last days of 2019 we organized a workshop at NSUT, one of the premier institutions in North India. Om Malviya and Jignesh Vasoya taught students how to start building on Tezos. This event was a pre-event to the hackathon which will be organized at the university in March 2020.
