A Complete Beginner’s Guide to Stakepool

Stakepool is a price prediction application that can help you earn more than just regular delegating. In this guide, we will show you how to install Thanos wallet and get free Tez in your wallet, and place bets on Stakepool.

Prerequisite

• Install Thanos Wallet: You must have installed Thanos wallet on your browser as an extension.
• Fund Wallet: Installing Thanos wallet is not enough, your wallet must be funded to get eligible to delegate via Stakepool. If you don’t have funds in your wallet, no worries, we will help you to get free Tez (on the testnet) in your wallet.

Thanos plugin installation

The Thanos open-source wallet is available as an extension for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Brave, and other browsers. The plugin is easy to install and use. You can install Thanos from the extension store or on the web wallet's official website.

1. Go to the Chrome (or another browser) extension store or to the wallet site and click “Install”. In the first case, proceed immediately to the next step.
2. 2. The website will redirect you to the desired extensions. Click “Install”. The browser will load the plugin and you can proceed to create a wallet.

3. If have an existing Tezos wallet, select “Import existing Wallet” and restore your wallet using the seed phrase.

4. If you don’t have a wallet, don't panic. We will create a new wallet. Click “Create a new Wallet”.

5. Enter a new password, accept the user agreement, and click “Create”.

6. Save the seed phrase. With this you can restore access to your wallet if you lose your password. There is no other way to restore you funds if you lose both your password and seed phrase, so keep your seed phrase at a safe place.

7. Select “Delphi Testnet” (Current active testnet).

Get Free Tez on Thanos (for Testnet)

Download Tezster GUI

1. Download Tezster GUI package for your system from this link.
2. Open Tezster GUI application and click on “Enter Workspace”. You will enter into the application.

3. Select “Delphinet-Tezster” the from drop down option (use the latest testnet).

4. Select the “Add Faucet Account” tab in “Accounts” menu.

5. Open “Faucet link”. A screen window will appear the same as below.

6. Click on “Get Testnet tz”. Copy the json content.

7. Paste the copied JSON content in the Tezster GUI under the “Add Faucet Account” tab. Also give a label to your account. (I am naming it “stakepool”)

8. Click on the “Add Faucet Account” button (green colored button).

9. After a successful add, you will get a “success” message box as:

10. You can check your added account in “List Accounts” tab.

Transfer fund from “GUI wallet” to “Thanos wallet”

1. Open Thanos wallet, click the “Receive” button, then copy the address (Make sure the correct testnet is active on the wallet.)

2. Open Tezster GUI, go to the “Transactions” side menu and click the “Transfer Tez” button. A Pop-up window will appear.

3. In “From” select previously added account. In “To’ paste your copied Thanos wallet address (tz1*****). Enter the relevant amount (less than available balance in added account). Click the “Pay Amount” button. Wait for the transaction to be succeeded.

4. Hurray…! You have funds in your Thanos wallet.

You are ready to use Stakepool! 👌

Place Bets on Stakepool

1. Open the Stakepool application home page.
2. Enter an amount that you want to stake.
3. Select the range for your prediction. (The lower extreme of each range is included. The higher extreme of each range is excluded)

4. Click the “Stake” button and “Confirm” the staking order review.

5. The Thanos pop-up window will appear. Click “connect” to confirm the Thanos connection with Stakepool.

6. After a few seconds, another Thanos pop-up will appear for the operation confirmation. Click “Confirm”.

7. After clicking “Confirm”, wait for operation confirmation till you get “Stake Order Successful” message.

8. Congratulations, you have placed your first bet on Stakepool! 🌮

Staking Orders

You can check your placed bets on Stakepool. We will guide you on how to check your placed orders.

1. Click the “Staking Orders” from the settings icon (on the top right-hand side).

2. You will be redirected to another page. Select “Connect Wallet”.

3. Confirm the connection with the application via the Thanos wallet pop-up.

4. Your order history is on your screen now.
