Between the launch of Tgrade in June and the beginning of December the Oversight Community has received 154 applications for Engagement Points of these 119 were submitted and passed, the remainder were either duplicates, had insufficient information or did not demonstrate engagement.

Now there is some good data, it becomes possible to do some analysis on what was submitted and how the many applications can be categorised. The list below, in no particular order, shows the high level categories:

  • Translation of articles, papers and technical documents
  • Technical infrastructure such as new Validator nodes, RPC nodes, Seed nodes, State Synch, and IBC relayers
  • Technical documentation
  • Awareness building, videos, tweets, infographics, blog, podcasts
  • Bots to alert about governance proposals in Discord
  • Connectivity and Interoperability, such as the registration of TGD on Evmos
  • Governance discussions and proposals for the constitution

What we can see is how the community is forming and the activities that support Tgrade. This is an evolving process as some of the activity in the first few months were about setting up the tools, infrastructure and writing the documents. The awareness building and promotion will be an ongoing effort and the audiences grow. The tooling around Tgrade will continue to develop.

This is a snapshot of the first wave of applications. This does not exclude any other activities that are outside of the categories to date, and it is strongly encouraged that if someone has an idea to propose it in Discord and guidance will be given whether it fits with the Tgrade objectives.

As part of the progressive decentralisation it would also be good to see a wider pool of developers and Engagement Points should be considered as a reward mechanism for people to get involved.

One gap is the introduction and onboarding of businesses building on Tgrade. Tgrade has a business focus and there is a vision to develop a rich ecosystem of businesses building using Trusted Circles. Introducing businesses to Tgrade is an obvious candidate for Engagement Points.
