Did you already have a dream that exists only in a paper? Well, I don’t know about you but I did. Being honest, I have a lot of them! Here I will tell you about one: to travel with my cousin.

We are two young girls (hahaha) and we always talked about travel together. However, we never really did something to make true this dream. It was like when you met a friend and you want to do a barbeque, but it never really happens, you know?

In 2019, something change. I don’t know why but we decided to act and make the dream true. First of all, we needed to agree about where we could go and how much money we were willing to spend. It was not a difficult decision, because we knew what we wanted. We wished to do an adventure trip! Not a common thing but a trip that could cause butterflies in our stomach. We wanted to live full of emotion. So we decided to go to Jalapão!

Did you already hear about this place? If you like Brazilian music and pop-rock music you probably listen to the song “Esquecimento” of Skank” and they sing “…Que seja no Japão, Jamaica ou Jalapão…” Yeah, Jalapão! It’s a region in Tocantins states, full of adventure. And then we started planning.

We researched about: how to arrive there, how many tours to do, how much money usually is necessary per day: to eat and sleep somewhere. As a result, we would spend more than three thousand reais each one of us. And also, we live far from Jalapão, and go by plane was our best alternative to arrive there. As a consequence, we needed to spend more money than we wanted.

At that time we ask ourselves: what if we would go to another country instead of only other states in Brazil? We were on the edge of our seat with that idea! We chose three possible destiny: Peru — Machu Picchu, Chile — Atacama Desert, or Uruguay — Punta del Este. We will travel in June. After some research, we eliminated Punta del Este because It wasn’t good weather to go there in June. We wish not only to do an adventure trip but also a lowest-cost trip. So, we needed to decide between Machu Picchu and the Atacama Desert. In short, we decided to go to the Atacama because would be easier to arrive there by bus than at Machu Picchu. What we didn’t know is: it isn’t easy to go by bus to anywhere!
