“What’s really good, what’s really food?” — Das Racist

Welcome to the first edition of That Good You Need, bringing you the most interesting content from around the web/known universe. Let’s jump right into it.

Jennifer Garner’s Credit Card Commercials Are the Best Show on TV

The Ringer is bound to pop up here pretty consistently, but this was probably my favorite piece they’ve done so far. In what can only be described as a very extensive breakdown of Jennifer Garner’s appearances in Capitol One ads, Sam Donsky puts forward a fairly strong argument as to why, as the article’s title suggests, they are in fact the best show on TV.

Why You Will Marry the Wrong Person

This was an interesting piece that spoke about love, marriage, their history, and their current status. It reads as something that will either leave you quite depressed, or rather encouraged. The article points out that no matter your situation when you actually get married, it is almost certainly bound to change. People grow, secrets are uncovered, situations shift, and ultimately the infinite love you promised to your partner might not be enough. I won’t spoil it too much, but it’s definitely worth a read. Also, in case you are too discouraged afterwards, this older Times piece may give you a bit of hope.

Seth Rollins on Talk Is Jericho

If you know me, you know I’m a big fan of PRO RASSLIN’. A few weeks ago, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins returned after being out for 7+ months with a knee injury. While his return was awesome in itself, the press he’s done surrounding it has been equally great. This podcast with Chris Jericho, a fellow Sports Entertainer and WWE Superstar who knows what it’s like to be in Seth’s shoes, was quality.

Anna Faris and Chelsea Handler on Anna Faris is Unqualified

Chelsea Handler (real name Chelsea Lately) has been all over the place in the past few months. Her Netflix docuseries was really well done, and now her several times a week show on the same network has launched as well. All of that is worth checking out on its own, but so is this podcast with Anna Faris. Not necessarily a hard-hitting NPR-style interview, but fun to listen to and pretty enjoyable. Part I is definitely worth your time, Part II is probably skippable.

The Hopeful’s “Bernie’s Always Right”

Full disclosure, a close associate of mine is in this band (waves to girlfriend) and this is a little older. That said, this is still a great representation of how dire our current political situation is. Everything is terrible, so we might as well laugh about it.

That does it for week one! Feel free to leave feedback, complain, argue with me, whatever you’d like. Until next week!
