Exhausted, Rosa spreads a blanket on the sand, bundles another for her head and curls up to sleep. Soon, the dream she’s dreamt every night overcomes her once more.

Along with her tribe, she roams the sand dunes in search of villages to entertain. And the people arrive, dressed in merriment to listen to the gypsies play, dance and sing. And all is well in Rosa’s life. Happiness surrounds her.

She stirs, but doesn’t awaken. He watches as her face creases in dismay as the dream changes from joy to loss.

She’s alone now, roaming the world with only her guitar and a vase filled with sacred, scented oils, but who will she play for now and whose feet will she anoint?

And then she hears him. As the moon softly caresses her face, he whispers, I love you. And until daybreak, the lion settles down beside her sleeping form to keep her safe.
