Is our addiction to Facebook so overwhelming that we blindly accept repeated data breaches to maintain a false sense of relevance? Why ignore the blatant disrespect of our privacy by Facebook, permitting uncompensated use of our data for profits? Is FOMO so rife that we willingly sacrifice confidential information? Our attention span only lasts the duration to mindlessly scroll past posts made by individuals desperately seeking attention and validate their presence. It is little wonder Facebook executives can flippantly dismiss concerns by stating a breach is “old news” and get away with it when we only now feel the effects.
