“But one poem a night, one short story a night, one essay a night, for the next 1,000 nights.” — Ray Bradbury

Today’s Quote:

“This one moment when you know you’re not a sad story. You are alive. And you stand up and see the lights on the buildings and everything that makes you wonder. And you’re listening to that song, and that drive with the people who you love most in this world. And in this moment, I swear, we are infinite.”
— Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I’m too old to have read The Perks of Being a Wallflower as a kid. But that’s okay. I love it anyway. So much. It’s set right around the time when I was in high school and when I read the book or watch the movie, I’m struck every single time by how perfectly Chbosky captured the late 1980s/early 1990s era and the experience of being a teenager (maybe in any era?)

I want to write a book that makes someone feel what The Perks of Being a Wallflower makes me feel. This scene is my favorite.
