Don’t Get Distracted by the Holidays!

Life serves up enough distractions…now let’s add Christmas and New Year’s to the mix, and even if you don’t participate in these holidays, your customers will.

To have a great second half of December and maintain your current production levels, it is mandatory to limit your distractions to the bare minimum over the next 2 weeks.

This is always the time of the year when I make a complete list of all the activities that might possibly distract me.

Keep in mind that we only have 7 “normal” weekdays left in the year with Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve coming up.

Besides the holidays, you’ve got parties, kids out of school, and whatever other unplanned activities that will show themselves.

So, you must make a conscious effort to end the year stronger than ever by committing to it — or you will waste these next 2 weeks.

While others are preoccupied with holiday plans, taking it easy, and pulling back, the last half of December is the time you can dominate and finish the year strong.

The very fact that so many people around you are actually surrendering their time and efforts to the holiday season festivities should just fuel your fire even more!

The majority mail in these last 2 weeks of the year, right?

3 tips to make the next 2 weeks a great end to 2018:

#1: Fill all the blank spots on your calendar

You should be so busy that you don’t know what day it is.

How many days until Christmas? You shouldn’t know.

Be filled with calls, meetings, and goals. The more productive you are, the less distracted you’ll be!

Rule #2: Become obsessed with ending 2018 strong

The only way to eliminate any distraction is to get completely obsessed.

Successful people distinguish themselves from the rest because they are willing to sacrifice the experience in order to build their future and fully utilize the time they have.

This takes obsession.

Rule #3: Create time

Create time, don’t manage it.

Divide each hour into four 15-minute blocks of time and see how much you can complete in each 15-minute block.

Work fast and furiously to see how much you can accomplish — make it a game.
