BINGE WATCH

G-G-G-G-G-Unit! Gah, I love being so hip and fresh. Anyway, rapper/producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has penned a four-year deal with Starz. Jackson currently executive produces Starz’s tentpole series Power, so this deal will greatly increase Jackson’s content contributions to the premium channel. Through the deal, 50 Cent will develop both scripted and unscripted series with his G-Unit Film and Television unit. The deal’s a pretty swanky one. It includes a three-series commitment, a development executive completely dedicated to Jackson, and a discretionary fund for G-Unit project development. Sources close to the deal say it’s worth somewhere in the neighborhood of a cool $150 million.

BIG BUSINESS

Stephen Elliott, one of the men named on the “Shitty Media Men” list that went viral last year has sued its creator, Moira Donegan, for $1.5 million in damages. The list, which was a Google spreadsheet disseminated in October 2017, encouraged women to anonymous share sexual misconduct allegations that they had encountered while working in the media industry. Elliott has been outspoken about the list since it circled the web. In an essay he wrote in September, he claimed that after the list went viral, he was disinvited from numerous events and his agent quit returning his calls. As per the lawsuit, Elliott plans to sue other anonymous contributors to the list and subpoena Google for metadata in order to identify other contributors. Several men who were also listed on the Google doc oppose Elliott’s actions, according to a piece from The Cut.
