I once read somewhere that:-

“Great revolutions come quitely and soft-footed”

I did not quite understand what it meant at that time. I formed a thinking that the greatest of revolutions came with a bang and ended with a spectacular show. I underestimated what I had read and the power that those words possessed and I was proved wrong by what I realized only yesterday.

There I am just wandering about the internet like any computer addict when I see this unbelievable statistic that “the paper consumption in North-America has declined over the past few years”. I did a little jumping around and found that to be true and it hit me as I emphatically exclaimed: A revoultion is taking place!!

What exactly is that revolution well lets just call it the anti-paper revolution. The use of paper as we know it declining and the digital era has a vital contribution to this, devices like the ipad, galaxy tab and now windows tablets and many many more, not to mention the ever increasing screen size of mobile phones, has made us use paper less and less for instance just look at the condition of the US Mail. And the best part of it is that everybody you me, the guy next door, literally everybody is a part of it. If you examine your paper habits over the past few years you`ll realize too that you have indeed started to use paper less as compared to the amount that you were using before. Bits of paper are not seen around the modern house hold anymore rather all our books,notes and to-do lists have gone digital and the childrens study material is all thats paper though that too will soon go digital. Newspapers are now on the web and whats more that even currency is going digital, Bitcoins anyone. The point you get from all of this, or the point that I`m trying to make is that the we are reducing our need of paper.

Now this is a not a good thing it is an excellent thing. We all know how cutting trees for making paper and other stuff affects the environment that is it causes Global Warming. By reducing our use of paper we are actually reducing the cutting of trees and thus trying to control Global Warming. Human race is indirectly, almost unconsciously, trying to save its self. I do not know how much the tech industry is aware of this or whether this is even their goal but directly or indirectly, knowingly or unknowingly they are going in the right direction, not that I have to say that, its already quite evident.

With great joy I say this that we the people are going in the right way aleast in this case. And whats extraordinary is that all this is happening without us even knowing, who knows in a few decades we might stop using paper completely, Its all happening so fast and so quitely that its sound is almost unheard.

And thus I was proved wrong in my thinking as I truely understood what that statement meant, the one i mentioned in the begining.

But nevertheless that is the revolution that you are a part of , a part you have to be.
