The new ICE London G&S committee has been in place for nearly a month (at time of writing) and it is already clear that this is going to be an outstanding year. The named roles have been filled with a mix of familiar and fresh faces, all of them enthusiastic; the strategic group are dependable and dedicated; and there are many eager general members with great ideas. I want to tell you three areas where I hope to channel our efforts.

Firstly, this is the year of the technician. Each sub-group of the G&S will consider technician members in their activities and the knowledge group is investigating events geared specifically towards technicians.

Secondly, I want to improve our memory. As a committee we have a three year turnover because graduates move on in their careers, meaning the committee forgets what has happened in the past. For example, a knowing previous 5 week course fees would strengthen our case in their negotiations.

Lastly, we will make better use of @ICE_GSNet. We have started this with the ICE website, but there is much more we can get from them.

We have a great year ahead of us, I look forward to seeing you all at our events.
