COVID-19 was a predicable event in that, based on the history of diseases this century, there would be a pandemic at some point. For the last decade, I’ve been saying that a global pandemic was an inevitability. The probability was overwhelming, but the specifics of the timing and of the virus itself were beyond my ability to forecast.
