Today is a Great Day

Some would say that today, April 14, 2017, is a great because K. Dot aka Kendrick Lamar aka Kung Fu Kenny dropped his third LP entitled DAMN. And that is understandable. K. Dot is at the top of his game, and while DAMN. is not his best (at least not after listening through twice), it is certainly the best mainstream rap album to come out this year. But yeah…that is not why today is great. Today is great because on April 14, 1969, my momma was born (see the picture above). My momma, who taught me how to be a man. Who taught me to be kind. Who put a roof over my head. Who gave me life.

She is my queen, and she is the reason why April 14th will always be great.
