There’s been an interesting story unfolding in the state legislature after a battle over #HB2222. The bill would give female inmates unlimited access to feminine hygiene products. They had been limited to 12 generic brand pads per month. After the uproar about the bill stalling, the ADC announced that they would up the number to 36 per month.

I appreciate that there was an administrative fix rather than a need to write new laws about it. However, I agree with Athena Salman that there needs to be some way that this is codified to prevent it being undone immediately. As we’ve seen in DACA, administrative actions are easily undone.

This is about exactly as effective as the complete wall POTUS wants.

There was also a great article about the wall and how architects think it’s idiotic for a host of reasons. You can read it here. The best part is this quote though:

There’s not, yet, a concrete proposal. We don’t know if it is solid or porous, if water and wildlife can move through it, or from what materials it will be made.

In an opinion piece about constructing a wall he says we don’t have a concrete proposal. I really hope that he meant to make that excellent bit of word play.
