We’ve been traveling the country to hear from citizens about what shapes their trust — and distrust—in news organizations. You can explore what we discovered in our new report, which was published today.

To put it simply: the situation around trust is not good. But there are all sorts of interesting dynamics in play. Our report is an effort to capture what drives and disrupts trust, and then tease out strategies journalists can use to build connections in the communities they serve.

Going forward, we’ll be using this site as a home base for conversations around building trust in journalism. For now, check out our findings on the SOJC home page, and follow us on Twitter.
