The Girl Who Tasted Of Fire
The fire within her lit the lives of people who hadn’t seen the light in decades
Hopeful and happy,
about the new experiences to come
she set her foot into the outside world
she loved every bit of what she saw,
but only from afar
she craved to be a part of something,
something so special, that her soul tasted of it
She needed to be guided to her destiny.
With no clue that the world around her
was the best guide she could ever ask for,
she continued to look for something, to fill her heart
something to make her question
something to give her direction
something that introduced her to her own self!
In her journey, she came across something
attractive and harmless
It was welcoming and seemed like something
that she was looking for,
but the closer she got, the colder it became
Hesitant but hopeful, she touched it
and slowly saw the darkness spread through her hand
She felt the coldness and discomfort
While it almost took over her, and she couldn’t fight it
she slowly lost her hope and then the happiness
everything around her started fading away
everything that she had loved once, made no sense anymore
all she saw was different shades of darkness
When it got closer to her heart, she realized that
she then tasted of darkness,
Her heart cried out for help,
while many tried to help her and failed
she understood that this was but her battle
and her choice to fight back was the only thing that could save her
With all the remaining light within her,
she fought the darkness
that tried to swallow her
day in and day out, she kept fighting,
to find herself once again
She was exhausted but couldn’t rest
not until she filled herself completely with light
for light is the only way to fight darkness
For years, she fought this battle within herself
When many misjudged her journey
and told her that it’s all in her ‘Head’
she held onto hope and kept fighting against the darkness
and the cloud of doubts till there was no bit of darkness left
Now, the light within her was so strong that
it illuminated the lives of souls who hadn’t seen light in decades
She had finally found herself,
Her soul finally tasted of something that she was proud of
While she found a part of herself,
her journey continued,
helping other girls like her find the fire in themselves
for she was the girl who survived, she was the
girl who tasted of fire!
