“Glamping, also known as luxury camping or glamorous camping, is that escape you’ve been meaning to take. It’s that little break from the hustle and bustle. It’s a moment by yourself in a secluded tree house.”
“Glamping is a portmanteau of glamorous and camping and describes a style of camping with amenities and, in some cases, resort-style services not usually associated with “traditional” camping.” wikipedia
Luxurious tent-living is not a new thing, it’s been around for ages. In the 16th century, the Scottish Earl of Atholl prepared a lavish experience in the Highlands for the visiting King James V and his mother. Here, the Duke pitched lavish tents and filled them with all the provisions of his own home palace. With the Internet, a new form of luxury nomads travel the globe and enjoy their freedom to live and work in style, without the confines of a conventional life fraught with modern stressors.

I found my fav on the Glamping Hub, California .This was my first experience sleeping in a glamping tent and I must say it was quite comfortable and well appointed. The feeling of being outside, yet draped in a womb-like tent was so relaxing. The hosts were very accommodating and the environment was very clean with soothing natural colors. The choice of decor, with soft, fluffy fabrics, super comfy bed and the clever use of twinkly lights added to the ambiance. With a remote and flip of a switch you will feel like a little kid again, and it was fun to lie in bed and see the tent draping you in warm and cozy surroundings. There was all the comforts of home basic appliances such as a sink, coffee maker, and small fridge. The outdoor shower and toilet was clean and a short step away. The location was extraordinary to explore one of the most popular resort areas in Carlsbad. From the beach to the cute villages, my fav was sleeping in a tent and then visiting the luxe resorts for a fancy snack! Don’t hesitate to book this most charming and sweet little glamping bell tent. You will probably want to stay a lot longer when you realize all the different activities to enjoy the area!
Not only was this a great choice, but I got to visit one of my fav spas, Omni La Costa Resort and Spa and check out the latest at the Chopra Center. The next day I went to the luxury Park Hyatt Aviara Resort and Spa and hung out by the pool.
(Maybe next time I’ll be more bold and remote, but probably not go solo.)
My experience was so pleasant and unique that I am finding myself revisiting the site over and over again, discovering so many outstanding places to visit all over the world. In fact, the more I see the photos of these out-of-this-world, off the beaten path places, I am less inclined to ever want to stay in a big, commercial hotel or resort again! The hosts of this property were very attentive, and focused on making sure their guests were comfortable and had so many little touches. From the heated mattress, a fan, a mini-sink, fridge and a lovely atmosphere with the twinkly lights at night that you could turn on from a remote next to your bed.
I have decided that this is the ‘ticket’ to experiencing the best of nature and also still having luxe accommodations. There are so many choices, you can spend the rest of your life filling your ‘bucket list’ on Glamping Hub! n this world of high tech, we need more high ‘touch’ and spending time in nature is the best prescription to de-stress.
You can get lost in travels while navigating this site and their are so many imaginative dwellings to visit. Here’s one in Costa Rica, enveloped in the rainforest, near the coast, that’s a refurbished airplane 727 with two air-conditioned bedrooms and even a swimming pool on the property! This is truly for the upcycled, eco-conscious traveler that enjoys a clever way to recycle the obsolete. I believe this will become a much needed and growing trend!
Another one that intrigued me was a “Uniquely Restored Rice Warehouse Rental For Vacation Getaways in Bali, Indonesia” which is in the most artsy town of Ubud. It also has a swimming pool (one of my must haves, plus near water or a beach)
Another is this astonishing and historic floating chapel turned luxurious private home is ideal for glampers who appreciate amazing architecture. The houseboat can be found in a marina on the Manatee River near Sarasota in Palmetto, Florida. (Which also has a swimming pool!)
Today the new trend is Experiential Travel which is a necessary byproduct of living your best life.
