In this blog, I will be teaching new students about art and its culture. You might be asking “What kind of art are we talking about?” And the answer to that is “Graffiti”. We will be learning about graffiti, its techniques, styles, and artists. This blog will be very fun and interesting to learn and know about because you can learn about street art and its deep meaning, and you can do them yourself.

In this blog, we will be learning about what graffiti is, when it was founded, who its artists are, and how one can do graffiti. Graffiti is very important in the art culture because it shows street art, talent, skill, and many more. It is street art painted, drawn, or written on walls, and it is sometimes illegal to do. Graffiti is like a sign of freedom, friendship, and having fun. It shows freedom because you can paint, draw, and write anything your mind comes up with, and no one is there to judge you but all there to support you.

In most things we do, we usually tend to mess up because of the pressure of people. In graffiti, you can do anything you want and no one will judge you. Friendship is also a big part of graffiti. In the 1960s and 1970s, graffiti artists would go out at night as groups and start spray painting walls and making masterpieces.

Some examples of graffiti artists are Keith Haring and Brian Donnelly aka ”Kaws”. Keith Haring has such a unique art style and people have never seen an art style like his, which made him very famous and turned Keith Haring into a huge brand that started in 1989.

Brian Donnelly, on the other hand, started graffiti at a very young age and his style was also very different. Kaws was his stage name and he would paint masterpieces on walls in New York in the 1990s. Many people saw his work and were very interested and he also became a very famous artist and also has a brand. His brand consists of toys, shoes, and collaborations with big brands like Nike.

Here are some examples of Keith Haring’s masterpieces:
