Congratulations to Monica Walters for her AAMBC Awards nomination as Romance Author of the year. Miss Walters along with four other phenomenal authors of African-American romance have been selected in the 15th AAMBC Awards nominee announcement presentation on May 1, 2023. Winners of the Romance Author of the year and various other literary-based categories will be announced at the 15th annual AAMBC Awards ceremony held August 6, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia as part of Black Writers Weekend.
Monica Walters (AKA the Queen of Country Hood Love stories) continues to entertain and enthrall readers with her take on black love from a down home country perspective. Monica was born and raised in Beaumont( Texas). A wife and mother, Monica currently lives in Nome (Texas), the setting where most of her country hood love stories are situated. Attaining her BS in Sociology, Ms. Walters plans to utilize her degree to better comprehend characters and their complex personalities in order to evolve as a writer.
Monica is an Amazon best-selling author who has been nominated multiple times for various literary awards. In 2021 Ms. Walters was honored with the Literary Jewels Literary Awards for Best Romance Author.
Finding her entrance into the world of writing through poetry, Monica embarked on her passion for creating different worlds through the utilization of her words, creativity, and imagination. Progressing from poetry to song lyrics and short stories, Monica expanded her literary repertoire when penning her first full-length novel which was subsequently self-published in 2014. In September 2015, Monica published Ultimate Betrayal which launched her into the world of fictional writing leading to a catalogue of 80-plus books published.
