Let’s Chat About AAMBC Awards Romance Author of the Year Nominee: A. E. Valdez

Congratulations to A. E. Valdez for her AAMBC Awards nomination as Romance Author of the year. Miss Valdez along with four other phenomenal authors of African-American romance have been selected in the 15th AAMBC Awards nominee announcement presentation on May 1, 2023. Winners of the Romance Author of the year and various other literary-based categories will be announced at the 15th annual AAMBC Awards ceremony held August 6, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia as part of Black Writers Weekend.

Ms. Valdez has been expressing her love of writing and creativity since childhood. Gifted a journal by her fifth grade teacher, Amanda discovered her ardor for writing poetry which has expanded into works of fiction as well as gaming narratives. Her desire to read stories with characters who have similar physical and cultural attributes to her has fueled Amanda’s creativity and passion ever since she was a child.

Ms. Valdez resides in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and two sons whom she enjoys spending time with outside of her writing schedule. In 2019, Amanda embarked on visual storytelling through the utilization of a game called The Sims, which she created. Centering the story on the bedrock of black love and romance, Ms. Valdez captivated her audience and continued to spellbind them with riveting plots and twists which led to the creation of her debut novel: All I’ve Wanted, All I’ve Needed published in 2021.

Ms. Valdez is passionate about all facets of romance stories, from the sweet flickers of beginning attractions to the Smoldering inferno of energized sensual play. Amanda writes stories which allow the readers to become engrossed in the multiple dimensions of romance from first introductions to heartbreaks to happy Endings. Passionate about what she writes, Ms. Valdez creatively pens stories which allures readers to experience the emotional highs and lows of her characters while wrapping themselves into the seductive storylines of modern-day black love.

Amanda has penned a few read-worthy romance books with titles such as Colliding with Faith, A Worthy Love, and Snow King Catches His Snowflake: A Three Kings Novel amongst other releases over the brief span of her writing career. With impending releases soon, Ms. Valdez will continue to appease the literary appetite of readers who eagerly savor every word of romance, seduction, and love narrated in her creative masterpieces of fiction. Kudos to Ms. Valdez for her contributions of literature giving rise to our cultural narratives into the world of romance fiction!
