Have you been bored this month? July is considered National Anti-Boredom Month. You have to find unique and interesting ways to rid yourself of boredom in July. I’m someone who does not like being bored. Sometimes it’s not that you are necessarily bored but maybe you aren’t thinking of ways to use your time sufficiently. Boredom is subjective to the individual. There are people who are content with staying in bed all day and they’ll never get bored but others have to get out. During Anti-Boredom Month you are encouraged to find out what makes you bored and to find ways to stop the boredom.

The phrase “I’m bored!” is one that is said often by people. I feel like if you are bored in this bustling energetic world you are not being open to the world around you. In this world there is something taking place every second and if you embrace your surrounding and search inside yourself you can come up with something to do. Really no one should be bored in todays society because this society wasn’t built on the idea of boredom. This society was built on the concept of growth and advancement. If you focus on your personal growth and advancement you will always find a task or activity to do. If you are open to learning, creating, trying, feeling etc, there are tons of things to do. I recommend using your imagination and you will not get stuck in boredom.

I know when I am bored sometimes I complain but all I really need to do is find something to do. If you don’t get stuck in the funk of having nothing to do you’ll never be bored. Honestly there are so many things you can do so that you are rarely bored. Boredom is just a concept that we create inside our minds. You can escape boredom by simply embracing your imagination and creativity.

Anti-Boredom

There’s a lot to do,

Take some time and learn something new,

Get together with a friend or two,

Cook a delicious stew,

Look around at all the possibilities,

Go to one of those fun indoor facilities,

Draw a picture or write a ghost story to read when its dark,

Take your dog to the dog park so he can bark,

Watch a movie you’ve never seen before,

Catch up on your chores,

No reason you should just be bored,

Watch the clouds roll by,

Look up interesting things you wish you could buy,

Give a new task a try,

No reason you should sit around and sigh,

Why are you not content,

Past the time by speaking in a different accent,

Really you can do whatever,

Go outside and admire the sunny weather,

Take the boredom out of your day,

If you use your imagination you’ll be okay,

Be like a child and don’t forget to play,

Don’t let boredom win instead make the day go your way!
