While the world has quarantined for the past six months, Black Writers Weekend persists in celebrating and honoring Black creativity, bridging the gap between aspiring and established creatives and amplifying Black voices and stories in prose, cinema, and print. In these uncertain times, Black creativity continues to propel the world forward.

The grind for your dreams can sometimes feel like an uphill battle; however, black creative extraordinaire Numa Perrier possesses the superpower of grit and grind. Numa discovered her passion for writing stories and books in childhood; her determination led her to manifesting a legacy of truth in black storytelling. Known for her production company Black & Sexy TV, writing and acting, and now releasing her Netflix film, Jezebel, it is no wonder she has become a household name. I had the opportunity to chat with Numa regarding her journey briefly, and she offered insight into the hustle and passion of being a Black creative.
