  1. The Last Black Unicorn, Tiffany Haddish (Simon and Schuster, $26)

By now we’ve all heard about Tiffany Haddish’s road to stardom, from her unbelievably rough beginnings growing up in South Central Los Angeles being bounced around within the foster care system to her amazing triumphs, which include starring in Girl’s Trip and being the first black female comedienne to host SNL. In her memoir, Tiffany discusses both the highs and the lows in a hysterical way like only she could. This will be available on December 5.

2. The Diamond Empire K’wan (St. Martin’s Press, $16.99)

If you’re a true fan of urban fiction, chances are you’ve read a least one novel by bestselling author K’wan. His latest is a follow up to his Romeo & Juliet meets the streets of Harlem love story, Diamonds & Pearl. In The Diamond Empire, main character and street general Diamonds is thought to be dead by his crew, but is staging a plan to return as the King of New York. Meanwhile Pearl, the daughter of a rich street icon who would never allow her to look in Diamonds direction, is heartbroken at his disappearance. When her father loses his position at the top of the food chain and everything crumbles around them, Pearl is drawn to the very same streets he spent his life protecting her from. Will these two ever find their way back to each other?

3. Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes To Those Who Create It Charlamagne Tha God (Simon and Schuster, $25.99)

Charlamagne Tha God is the self proclaimed “Prince of Pissing People Off”, and anyone that listens to him co host the nationally syndicated radio show The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 in New York would more than likely agree. However, his memoir shows a side of the radio host that most don’t get to see when they tune in. He discusses his humble beginnings in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, growing up in a trailer, his stint as a drug dealer and all the times he was fired from radio before he was truly successful. As he discusses these things, he shares principles he learned along the road to success.

4. Boss Tracy Brown (St. Martin’s Press, $15.99)

In this stunning standalone novel, bestselling author Tracy Brown introduces readers to Crystal Scott, a woman who seems to have the world at her fingers. She’s beautiful and has a prestigious job at a very popular magazine. However, things change once Troy Mitchell becomes the boss. Their families are tied in an unfortunate way, leaving them to wonder if their relationship will survive.

5. The Autobiography of Gucci Mane Gucci Mane and Neil Martinez-Belkin (Simon and Schuster, $27.00)

Rapper Gucci Mane has always been controversial, from his drug use, prison stints and beef with fellow Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy. In this book, Gucci discusses all of that and more as he paints a vivid picture of a talented young man who had the world at his feet but kept making the wrong decisions. He takes readers on a journey that starts in Alabama where he is originally from and ends in East Atlanta. Gucci is brutally honest which makes for a great, entertaining read.
