IF God never does what you ask, is He still worthy?
What if…

What if God makes you wait? Have you ever had an Abraham test? You know when you have to give up something you waited a really long time for. You’ve been hoping for a certain outcome but things go awry. What do you do when God doesn’t act as you expect. What if the thing you ask for God doesn’t do? Will you still serve Him?
We all have them. Desires we feel are more important than serving God. Some goal, some desire or wish we would just die if God doesn’t do. We hear of countless atheists saying,
“i used to believe God, but so and so died,” or “so and so happened so I have concluded that God must not exist, because a good God would never let such and so happen.”
Sometimes as in the case of Job, the worst case scenario does come true. Sometimes God doesn’t heal (many times He does), sometimes it isn’t fixed, sometimes you don’t get what you want.
I used to say if I had to give up certain earthly pleasures, like travel, sex, food, having kids, I would rather not do this God thing. But what if the thing you wait your whole life for God asks you to lay down? Is He worth it to you?

What if God asked you to forgo marriage, for the sake of another. Or some personal dream or goal, in His need of a higher purpose? Would you be willing or simply hold onto your life. God had promised Abraham a son, which He waited a very long time for. Once he Finally obtained it God asked Him to sacrifice that son. Is there something you are unwilling to release to God. That is the area God may go to work on. We all desire peace love and joy, but what if you are asked give up a basic joy that others can have for the sake of a higher purpose. I would go so far to say its not a sacrifice if it doesn’t involve something you greatly desire. We are usually asked to sacrifice something beloved, otherwise it isn’t really a sacrifice.

The truth is if God never answers your prayer, if He doesn’t fix it, if you have to suffer loss God is still worthy of our praise. He never promised a problem free existence nor a life without pain. We sometimes can be tempted to question God’s goodness and love, especially when the answer is no. But God is good even if it doesn’t go our way. Some people have the blessing of praising Him for the fruitful rain, others have the blessing of praising Him through the pain. Either way He is still worthy of our praise.
