I’m Taking a Break From Medium To Write My First Novel
This is not a goodbye — merely a see you later.
Medium is the best thing to have happened to me.
Okay, okay. That’s a tad bit hyperbolic. However, Medium is, without a doubt the best thing that has happened to my writing career.
I’ve grown leaps and bounds since publishing my first article here in September 2019. What started out as a fun experiment led to an adventure of epic proportions.
Through Medium, I made my first serious paycheque from my words. After I made my first hundred bucks here, I was hooked. There’s no drug like making a living from the thing you love. I’ve wanted to be a writer for as long as I could remember, but before Medium, I’ve always lacked the self-confidence and discipline to practice in public.
Medium changed all that.
It has singlehandedly transformed me from a wannabe writer to a real one, complete with some top writer tags and a shoutout from The Apprentice, to boot.
For that, I’ll always be grateful.
But as the saying goes, what got you here will not get you there.
