The Jaguar Skills Podcast

I only uncovered this gem a few days ago and — being a huge fan of Jaguar Skills mix albums — it’s a joy to hear this guy drop a 10 minute mix every week. Take note of his hip-hop summer jam special (titled: Jaguar Skills Super Mix 15–7–16) which is ten minutes chock full of the best RnB and hip-hop tunes released in the last 15 years.

The Vertical Podcast with J.J. Redick

On the sports side of things, Los Angeles Clippers guard, J.J. Redick, branches out into a media career with a stellar weekly show that invites the best guests on for earnest conversations about anything and everything. Want to know what it’s like to lose a game 7 in the NBA playoffs? J.J. has you covered. Want to know how you handle being a college basketball villain? J.J. has you covered.

My Favorite Murder

This show is a weekly, not-perfectly-factual-but-totally-awesome retelling of Murders by two incredibly funny and amazing women. Although the beginning of some episodes can include spoilers for ‘The Simpsons’ (American Crime Story), and waffling conversations, it’s totally worth it for anyone who is even a little bit interested in true crime. Also features a cat called Elvis with the greatest meow.

Wilosophy with Wil Anderson

Australian comedian, Wil Anderson, sits down with other kinds of famous people to talk philosophy on life and their journeys to where these people are today. Tip: go back into the archives for a good dose of comedy and real-talk; especially, the episode featuring Adam Zwar which talks about creative process and cracking into the entertainment industry.

Untold: The Daniel Morgan Murder

A true crime podcast out of the UK about the murder of Daniel Morgan, and police corruption. The crime was committed around 30 years ago, and no one has been convicted of the murder yet because of said police corruption. The show, essentially, is a review of what happened that night, and what happened in the years after. It’s all incredibly well told.

Lore

One of my absolute favourites, Lore is a podcast that explores modern superstitions, urban myths and all manner of spooky goings on in our world. It’s an incredibly engaging show which has produced some stellar episodes that tell us about the tragedy of adventure and sees the show flying around the world to unveil what urban legends still haunt us.

Guys We Fucked

Brutally honest and wonderfully witty, Guys We Fucked is the perfect substitute for you sitting at the backyard table on a Saturday night, feeling a little boozy, and talking sex with the rest of the world.
