With the job market now getting more competitive than ever, especially with the Google, Facebook, and Twitter layoffs, a question few of my readers continuously ask is how to secure a job in such a negative market scenario. The supply is high, and the demand is low. Amazon has just announced a recent round of layoffs. The future certainly looks bleak, and Tech winter seems just around the corner.

In this blog post, I will share some tips and strategies that have helped me secure my previous ML positions. The market can be sideways, upwards, or downwards; these tips will always make you go forward. I hope they turn out well for you.

1. Up Your Skill Game

First and foremost, you need to upskill in the latest ML technologies and tools. This might seem obvious, but it’s important to emphasize the need to update and expand your skills constantly. You might feel fatigued doing this. It could feel a little tricky with no success looking on the horizon. But as Shree Krishna said in Bhagavad Gita: “ कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन,” i.e. do your work without worrying for the reward. The reward will come with time.
