The magic in doing what you can at the moment

I’ve been down the unemployment avenue…To be precise, flat-broke!

Being poverty-stricken is abnormally tough on the mind if not ulcer-inducing. It makes you inquest everything — why you weren’t birthed by wealthy people in the first place…the reality of your inability to buy what you want and give when asked, is dire!

I was overwhelmed by my money problems given my family and friends appeared fairly better. Yet, I couldn’t even afford to brunch at my best-loved diner…

And so those were the days I was notably at rock-bottom, markedly viewing the world with a legendary temper. How can one be happy whilst their mind is a theatre of dismal reflections?

“Merilyn, you’re a weary load on others, for how long must they foot your bills?”

“You’re always unoccupied, what shall become of you in the next quarter or so”

“Your friends keep making actual goals meet and your only prized possession is your phone?” My bitchy mind wouldn’t stop until it unconsciously snapped on the last one.

Wait, and my most prized possession was my phone? The darned crispy-blue rectangular thing at that time!

Some of us are not just ungrateful, we don’t know what we have

I cherish history — it shapes us and high-spots how the world is a better place moving forward than then. 400 years ago, situations were so different and disturbingly vague. You could be arrested, slayed if you made a claim that the Pope deemed unbiblical… The richest people dodged potholes on horses? Terrific! And the ancestors were mostly buried in cold war? How could these people ever innovate!

Yet presently we have everything — From freedom of speech to automobiles, smartphones and internet. The Internet with Apps that align with our talents. All these precious gifts that some of us still find insufficient.

Tired of limping on one leg and mostly being useless, I had committed to taking advantage of my fancy gadget in relation to what I was good at then. My mind is excellently imaginative, so I had tried my luck with mapping one-line ideas into eBooks.

Plainly, my first writings had been specially jokey and quite absurd yet I let myself suck long enough to be this good (see confidence, lol) to get the credibility for more opportunities…

Even so, most of the polished skills you want, the banknotes and corporate jobs you wish to have, won’t just appear to you just like that. What are you doing about your dream job? Could start with learning how to be organized and systematic in your routine.

For at the top of it all when you feel blue about everything, do you decide to focus on what you can do then? If we claim our hearts beat for certain things, in the meantime when we don’t have them, what are we doing about ourselves so our dreams can meet us there? What are you doing so your dream partner doesn’t have to start from scratch?

Because it’s the small things we consistently do that ultimately mold us.

How about you make use of what you got? If something isn’t adding value, stop wasting your time on it. Again, why do we carry around expensive devices only used for memes and chats?
