Verdict Below Average

The movie did not feel authentic at all. It did not feel like a true story but a poorly told Bollywood sports movie. The characters were presented half heartily. In the three hours long movie I was able to gather only two information about Milkha Singh, that he loves milk and he can run as determinedly as Forest. The movie did not go deep into any of the characters not even for the protagonist. In my humble opinion the director should have invested more in the story and in the characters than showing us all kind of slow-motion scenes and unnecessary songs. The present content of this movie could have been shown in less than an hour. In a word a very disappointing experience.

A side note: I have always wondered, whenever there is a part about Pakistan in our movies, why the Pakistani sportsmen always been portrayed with similar characteristic like Johnny (the bad kid played by William Zabka) from Karate Kid, and all the Pakistani coaches are like his Marshal-art teacher. Are they really like that?
