What I am Watching Now (2021)

I used to maintain a table in a notebook and then later on a excel sheet. This table contained all the movies and series I watched with a word or two specifying my feelings. I haven’t kept that table almost a decade. So here I am starting it again. Finger crossed that I will be able to continue my tradition of girlhood (since I first had my black and white TV) 😀

February

1. The great escapists (prime) — nice watch, saw only 2 episodes till now. good stuff.
2. Star trek — lower decks — timepass :D
3. Miss Marple — ok-ish, did not like the series much. the second miss Marple was not good :(

movies:

1. whiplash (prime)— not bad actually
2. Asterix: the mansion of goods (prime)— okish
3. The Broken Heart Gallery (Prime) — nice, liked it ❤

January

1. Poirot (available on SonyLiv) : I have started watching Poirot last December. Still a few seasons to complete. In my opinion Poirot is nice in small doses 😁. Firstly too many murders and according to the series (not the same in the books) even the presence of the famous detective can not stop the gruesome murders, which is bad for moral you see. And also binge watching Poirot had an adverse affect on my spoken English 😬. So one or two episodes per week is the doctor’s order 😀
2. Feluda Ferot (season 1) (available on addatimes): good
3. Big Sky (hotstar)— bad, after third episode i could not watch anymore.
4. The Expanse (Season 1 to 3) (available on Prime Video): The first 3 seasons were just mind blowing. I watched every scene from the edge of my seat. action, adventure, thrill… just awesome.
5. The Expanse (Season 4) (available on Prime Video): 4th season was a bust. the politics was diluted, all the characters are either dumb or short sighted. it was excruciating to see the characters with so much depth in the previous seasons suddenly became one-dimensional. I pushed through the season though. Not sure will continue with the next season.
6. Wanda-Vision (disney+hotstar) — watched first two episodes, just loved it.
7. Gullak Seson 1 (Available on SonyLiv): Loved this series. As you may have noticed from the items in the list, my watch list is not a very happy place. But this series was extremely enjoyable with the whole family. I laughed so much while watching it, still my tummy hurts 😁. Totally recommended for family fun.
8. Gullak Seson 2 (Available on SonyLiv): Not as good as the first season. The episodes are longer, 20 mins hits the sweets spot in being enjoyable and a bit of drag. 30 mins felt long.
9. A Discovery of Witches (Available on SonyLiv): This series is hot 🌶 . Still watching. the story is boring, however the chemistry between the witch and the vampire is just spicy. You know I grew up with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and always had a special spot for David Boreanaz’s Angel. 😁
10. JL50 (sonyliv)— a good try, but could not deliver science wise. the acting, editing, cinematography was good, but the story fall short. the science just did not make sense.

Movies:

1. Mulan (disney+hotstar) — bad :(
2. Standing up, Falling down (available on amazon prime video) — really liked the movie (4/5)
3. Uncle Frank (prime) — this one was also very nice (4/5)
4. The reluctant dragon (disney+hotstar) — it is more of a documentary. loved it, although skipped the short animated stories.
5. Godmothered (disney+hotstar) — okish (2.5/5)
6. Soul (disney+hotstar) — not bad (3.5/5)
7. Thank you for sharing (prime) — meh (2/5)
8. Downton Abby (YouTube movies) — just felt like another episode from the series itself. was a nice watch
