A New Direction for The Anon Church

Since mid-February 2014, The Anon Church has been doing its best to keep your timelines loaded with the best tweets and blog posts from our TAC Anons. Although we have gained a sizeable following and readership thanks to all of you, we’ve felt that our core mission has fallen short of what we envisioned for TAC.

The purpose of TAC was to give a voice to as many Church Anons/Parodies as possible. We tried this by asking different Anons/Parodies to write for us and in return, we would highlight their best daily tweets. This has worked out well except for the fact that Anons who don’t blog for us are left out of the picture.

This ought not be! ;)

Our other concern is that many people have jumped to conclusions about certain doctrinal positions based on a handful of Anon authors and their posts. To be clear, TAC has no specific doctrinal stance except for the very basics found in the Apostles’ Creed.

Moving forward, we’re introducing some sweeping changes that most Anons/Parodies should be pleased with.

First off, we’re doing away with our Weekend Editions. Why, you ask? Because most people end up reading Anon blog posts directly from Twitter when blog post alerts are tweeted out. In order to compensate for this, we’ve decided that any Anon/Parody who mentions @TheAnonChurch in their tweeted blog posts will be highlighted on our timeline. Sound good? On occasion, we will invite different Anon authors to write something based around particular themes as well.

Secondly, we will be doing away with the TAC Anons Twitter List and scouring only one list for the best tweets from EVERY Anon/Parody who is on that list. (This means a lot more work for your humble admins, but we don’t mind).

Because we will be viewing material from hundreds of Anons and Parodies, we will be blending them together into one Twitter list entitled the “Church Anon/Parody Index”. In order to be added to this list, an Anon/Parody account must meet certain tweet/follower minimums. The reason for this is quality control. Many Anons/Parodies vanish after the first couple of months never to be heard from again.

Anon newbies will be placed on a private list monitored by the admins until they meet the minimum requirements and then added to the Index with a shout-out. Any Anon who is inactive for 90 days will be placed on the Anon Graveyard List hosted by @RealChurchGuy.

We trust that you will be pleased with these changes and promise not to clog your timelines with scores of daily tweets and retweets. We’re only looking for the best stuff out there in Twitterland.

Also, if you haven’t done so, please feel free to show your support for TAC by donning your avi with our TAC Twibbon.

Any questions or comments, shoot us a DM or an email at theanonchurch@icloud.com.

Sincerely,

TAC Admins
